MINI R53 Intake System for Automatic
MINI R53 Automatic Cold Air IntakeThe ALTA Cold Air Intake system pulls cold air from the ram-air duct in the grille in addition to pulling it through the vent below the windshield. The air-box seals to the hood and prevents under hood heat from entering the intake airstream. This keeps the filter surrounded by a fresh air bath. Cold Air BoxThe ALTA Cold Air Box is formed from laser cut aluminum sheet metal then CNC bent to perfection. Then finished in a rich black texture powercoating for long term protection and an O.E.M. look. Our airbox seals to the underside of the hood preventing under hood heat from entering the intake airstream. |

Foam FilterOur high flow foam filter reduces intake restriction and increases the surface area from which the engine can ingest clean air. Unlike cotton and gauze type filters, foam filters allow for multi-layer filtration. The ALTA Performance foam based filter will trap dirt within the filter at many different levels. Intake intalled on 19% pulley MCS w/chipThis test was done by a customer of ours where their car started life as a MCS with a 19% smaller SC pulley, ECU tuning, header and catback exhaust installed. They then installed just the ALTA Airbox and filter and these are the results of that. This gains roughly 7HP and 5ft-lbs of TQ. For those looking for more power check out the Cold Air intake System, these are worth 12+WHP. |
