ALTA 3" R56 CATBACK EXHAUST

ALTA the first company to offer a full 3" Catback exhaust for the new 2007 Mini Cooper S (R56). 

HP gains

The most important reason to buy a catback exhaust is to make more power.  The ALTA exhaust has solid gains of 10 Wheel HP and 10 ft-lbs of torque.  While 10 WHP is very noticeable, more noticeable is that the turbo spools roughly 200RPM sooner.  This quicker spool means more low end power! 

Sound

It is very important to us and everyone to prove the exhaust makes power, but sound level & tone should also be a concern. Our system is designed to have a very mellow and pleasing note while not producing loud"farty" sounds that wakes up neighbors.

All Stainless Steel

ALTA exhaust systems are made entirely of 304 stainless steel, inside and out. 304SS provides high corrosion resistance, and is excellent for extreme heat up to 1800 degrees.

Other manufactures and OEMs, will use cheaper 409 stainless steel which will rust and corrode over time but the added expense of 304 stainless steel is well worth the beautiful and long lasting high polish, and durability. 

3" Tubing

Don't be fooled that 2.5" exhaust systems are big enough for your high performance Mini Cooper S.  We have proven time and time again 3" makes more power while keeping exhaust tones under control.  Our huge 3 exhaust only weighs 1lb more than the stock 2.3" exhaust, so you don't sacrifice anything going to the ALTA 3" exhaust!

Straight Through Muffler

ALTA Performance mufflers have a true 3" internal diameter for uninterrupted exhaust flow . ALTA mufflers and flange connections are 3" throughout the entire length, not necked down for ultra smooth transitions throughout the system.

Dual Tips

Twin oversized slash cut exhaust tips keep that OEM styling while adding an agressive look at the same time.  The tips are a high polished, dual wall construction to add a more refined look and to ensure the tips do not dis-color with extreme heat.

V-Band Clamps

The ALTA performance exhaust features high tech v-band clamps for a perfect exhaust connection.  V-band clamps are designed to hold hundereds of pounds of pressure and do so without the need for a gasket!  This connection allows for a precise repeatable joint with the ability to rotate each joining connection.  This allows for easy installation, and alignment adjustments for a perfect fit every time.

Dyno Proven HP

Here is an example of our catback being installed on a stock Cooper S.  This was the first public dyno results we releasd for this part.  Only the cat back exhaust was installed between runs gaining an average of 10 wheel horsepower and 10 ft/lbs of torque.  The catback teamed with one of our downpipes is a great and powerful combination!
