SILICONE INTAKE HOSES
Our 5ply Silicone Elbow is rated for 200psi, and 400 degrees. Like other ALTA products this part is over built to ensure a life time of use. This is one of the key features to our intake as the bend provides the proper MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor reading and ensures no Check Engine Lights.

 |
ALUMINUM INTAKE BOX
The ALTA R56 air box was designed around light weight aluminum. This provides a stiff, strong, and corrosion proof shroud for the ALTA high flow foam filter. A black or red wrinkle finish powder coat is applied to keep things looking clean and finished for the life of the car.

 |
HIGH FLOW FOAM FILTER
Included with all ALTA intake is a high flow, reusable foam filter. Our sleek black, 2 piece design makes for easy cleaning of your filter. We have always trusted foam to provide our customers with the highest flow and best ability to keep dirt out of your engine! Many ask us why not a "K&N Style" filter?? The quick answer is foam flows much better when dirty. The long answer can be found HERE

COLD AIR INTAKEOur intake is designed to remove the OEM hood scoop plug/screen. During inital testing we found removing this provides consitent ambient temps to the filter. While its not a traditional "Cold Air Intake" where the filter is located in a fender well, the ALTA intake is just as good as it still get great constant ambient cold air. This is just one of the reasons why or intake has dyno proven HP! |
 |
NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS
When dealing with MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensors, small changes to turbulence in the intake system, can make huge changes to how the car runs. Because we are familiar with this problem on other cars, great care was taken to eliminate any turbulence issues that might throw a CEL, or make the car run too lean or rich. We can say for a fact that our intake replicates the stock MAF curve almost perfectly!

DYNO PROVEN HORSEPOWER
Here is one of many dyno sessions showing how much power can be gained by installing an ALTA intake. This is our first test of our intake system showing 10WHP gains and 10 ft-lbs of torque gain. This was done on a completley stock R56 with hood scoop removed (like its supposed to be). More dyno graphs in article below.

Don't be fooled others intake that they also make a claimed 10HP! I this article you can see how we prove this over and over again on many different cars in many different states of performance. Also is in an in depth look at some of our intial testing with and with out the scoop, showing how its a main part to how our intake functions. CLICK HERE

INTAKE IS NOT CARB APPROVED, CALL WITH MORE QUESTIONS!
Thank you for your purchase! Prior to installation it is important to remove all excess oil from the filter with a paper towel. A small amount of detergent (like Simple Green) may be required to get the excess oil from the filter to intake mating surface. It is imperative to remove this excess oil for proper operation.
Also, note that the filter should be cleaned every 5K - 7K miles based on the local dust and pollutant levels. This will keep your intake performing properly! A cleaning kit is available on our website, through our dealers, and other performance part retailers. It is crucial that you get the proper cleaner and oil for a FOAM filter. Use of other cleaners and oil may damage the filter and void the warranty.
