ALTA 3" DUAL CAT DOWNPIPE

The ALTA 3" Dual cat downpipe with high flow metalic catalytic converters, compliments your ALTA 3" catback exhaust perfectly!  This makes for a complete turboback exhaust system for maximum performance while keeping 2 cats just like your stock system! 

HP Gains

The most important reason to buy a catback exhaust is to make more power.  The ALTA exhaust has solid gains of 10 Wheel HP and 10 ft-lbs of torque.  While 10 WHP is very noticeable, more noticeable is that the turbo spools roughly 200RPM sooner.  This quicker spool means more low end power! 

Installation

It was once thought that installing a downpipe would require a few hours of install, but with new found methods, this is an hour job!  With tools foud in a typical tool box, anyone can install one of our ALTA downpipes in about an hour of work, which makes this a much more feasible installation for customers.

All Stainless Steel

ALTA exhaust systems are made entirely of 304 stainless steel, inside and out. 304SS provides high corrosion resistance, and is excellent for extreme heat up to 1800 degrees.

Other manufactures and OEMs, will use cheaper 409 stainless steel which will rust and corrode over time but the added expense of 304 stainless steel is well worth the beautiful and long lasting high polish, and durability. 

3" Tubing

Don't be fooled that 2.5" exhaust systems are big enough for your high performance Mini Cooper S.  Zero backpressure is what your turbo wants!  After the 2.5"turbo outlet our downpipe bulges to 3" to create a 3" turbo back exhaust when our 3" catback is installed.   You will also find that all important flex joint installed in the middle to help absorb engine vibration and movemet. 

High flow Catalytic Converters

Just like your stock downpipe, we include (2) catalytic converters to make your downpipe as legal as possible.  But we take this one step futher and install high flow, EPA approved, 200 cell per inch, metallic core convters to ensure maximum horsepower while keeping your emissions in check.  

Check Engine Lights

The Mini Cooper ECU is very picky and its virutually impossible to eliminate any CEL (check engine light) after installing any downpipe.  We take this into consideration and make the downpipe to perform to its maximum capabilities.  In order to combat this CEL issue, we offer the ALTA AccessPORT which has the ability to change the ECU parameters to ensure a CEL free operation.  See HERE for more details

V-Band Clamps

The ALTA performance downpipe features high tech v-band clamps for a perfect exhaust connection.  V-band clamps are designed to hold hundereds of pounds of pressure and do so without the need for a gasket!  This connection allows for a precise repeatable joint with the ability to rotate each joining connection.  This allows for easy installation, and alignment adjustments for a perfect fit every time.

Dyno Proven HP

Here is an example of the complete turboback exhaust being installed on a stock Cooper S.  A turboback exhaust includes the ALTA downpipe as well as the catback.   Huge 22 Wheel HP and 20ft-lbs of torque gained!  The catback teamed with one of our downpipes is a great and powerful combination.  Then add to that an ALTA AccessPORT and gain even more power!
